2. Live Fish Shipping Policy

2.1 Inherent Risk Acknowledgment

Live fish are living animals and carry an inherent risk of stress, injury, or mortality during transportation, even when professionally packed and shipped via express services.

By purchasing live fish from Eira Aquatics, you acknowledge and accept the biological risks associated with long-distance transport of live aquatic animals.

2.2 Seasonal & Temperature Restrictions

To protect animal welfare, we suspend live fish shipments when:

• The destination country or region is experiencing summer conditions
  
• The average daytime temperature exceeds 30°C (86°F)
  
• Extreme weather conditions are present
  

For most Northern Hemisphere destinations, live fish shipments are suspended approximately from July to November, subject to real-time temperature monitoring.

Orders placed during restricted periods will be held or refunded at our discretion.

2.3 Minimum Order Value for Live Fish

Due to high packing and express shipping costs, the minimum order value for live fish is USD $500 (Including shipping costs).

Orders below this amount will not be accepted.
(We set this threshold because if the purchase amount is too low, the shipping costs we pay are too high.
Therefore, we prefer orders with larger quantities. Of course, we welcome you to place orders with your friends.)

2.4 Shipping Method for Live Fish

• All live fish orders are shipped via UPS Express or equivalent priority courier
  
• We do not use economy shipping for live animals
  
• Shipments are scheduled only on Mondays–Wednesdays to avoid weekend delays
  

2.5 Overpacking Policy

To reduce mortality risk during transit:

• We may include extra fish at no additional cost
  
• These extra fish are provided as goodwill loss-buffer stock
  
• Extra fish are not counted as part of the purchased quantity and are not eligible for compensation or refunds
  

2.6 Delivery Responsibility

• Customers must ensure someone is available to receive the shipment on the first delivery attempt
  
• Failed delivery attempts or unattended packages void all DOA eligibility
